A SEASONAL JOURNEY OF SKILL AND FLAVOR

Experience the Art of Japanese Seasons on Your Plate

At Takumi Japanese Restaurant, we’re thrilled to introduce our new à la carte menu, a concept designed to celebrate Japan’s four distinct seasons and showcase our chef’s mastery of culinary skills. Named for “skillfulness,” Takumi lives up to its name with each dish—a reflection of dedication to flavor, seasonality, and artistry. This new menu brings together over 120 unique options, each crafted from Japan’s freshest seasonal ingredients, highlighting Takumi’s commitment to fresh, delicious, and healthy dining.

The Heart of Japanese Tradition: Kaiseki

One of our most beloved highlights is our Kaiseki menu, an iconic Japanese dining experience that involves a carefully curated multi-course meal. This tradition blends centuries-old techniques with the expertise of our chef, who creates dishes that change to reflect the unique tastes of each season. With four Kaiseki sets, each designed to represent one of Japan’s four seasons—Haru (Spring), Natsu (Summer), Aki (Autumn), and Fuyu (Winter)—Takumi’s Kaiseki experience transports you through the beauty of each season with an immersive culinary journey.

Each Kaiseki course features nine dishes, each designed to embody the essence of seasonal ingredients sourced from Japan and complemented with local elements. Let’s explore what makes each set unique and unforgettable:

  • HARU (Spring): Celebrate renewal and the vibrance of spring flavors, with fresh, delicate dishes that feature ingredients like bamboo shoots and cherry blossom leaves.
  • NATSU (Summer): Dive into the brightness of summer with refreshing, lighter dishes, including seasonal vegetables, fresh seafood, and delicate cold broths.
  • AKI (Autumn): Rich, earthy flavors mark the beginning of harvest time, with standout ingredients like halibut and snow crab prepared to highlight their unique seasonal qualities.
  • FUYU (Winter): Savory, warm dishes filled with hearty ingredients like miso and yellowtail create a cozy, comforting experience to cherish through the colder months.

The Mystery Box: A Fresh Surprise Every Weekend

For an added twist, Takumi introduces the Mystery Box, a special offering available on Thursday through Sunday nights. Sourced directly from Japanese fish markets, our chef will prepare a new selection of seafood each weekend, offering guests a truly unique, one-on-one culinary experience. This surprise menu allows diners to select a specific ingredient, which our chef will expertly prepare, demonstrating the versatility and skill required to enhance each distinct flavor.
